8th Singapore International Neuro-Cognitive Symposium

Dear Colleagues and Esteemed Participants,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 8th Singapore International Neuro-Cognitive Symposium (8NCS), set to take place from the 27th to 29th of August, 2026, at the Academia in Singapore.
The 8NCS brings together leading experts across clinical, translational, and basic sciences to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of neurocognitive disorders. This year’s programme spans the full continuum from fundamental biological discovery to real-world clinical application, beginning with a robust pre-symposium that highlights advances in biomarkers, transcriptomics, neuroimaging, and biofluid signatures that are shaping our understanding of neurodegeneration.
A key focus of the symposium is the broadening of perspectives beyond Alzheimer’s disease, with plenary discussions examining non-Alzheimer’s pathologies such as LATE, PART, AGD, and FTLD, and their implications for clinical diagnosis and disease frameworks. Complementing this is a strong emphasis on language, bilingualism, and cognitive resilience, deepening our understanding of how linguistic factors and aphasia intersect with neurodegenerative processes. Innovation remains central, with sessions dedicated to digital health and artificial intelligence, including brain-computer interfaces, in-home sensing technologies, and multimodal AI models for early detection and disease monitoring. Therapeutic frontiers are also explored, with emerging strategies targeting vascular, genetic, and proteinopathic pathways, alongside novel interventions such as neuromodulation and evolving approaches to complex conditions like normal pressure hydrocephalus. The programme also highlights inclusivity and ethics in care, addressing cognitive decline in persons with intellectual disability and emphasising a person-centred, ethics-informed approach to medical decision-making in dementia. Together with sessions on palliative care, neuropsychiatry, and community-based interventions, 8NCS underscores a holistic and multidisciplinary vision for brain health.
The symposium thrives because of the people who show up — whether in the heart of Singapore, from across the globe, or online. Your engagement and contributions are what move our field forward. Let us gather to share knowledge, spark new ideas, and collectively shape the next chapter of dementia research and care.
